Organizers of the New Orleans festival, Bayou Boogaloo, are moving the festival to new venues and changing the format. The 20th edition of the festival will be held at the Pitot House and the Broadside, with fewer musicians and vendors. The change comes as costs have increased and attendance has decreased. The festival's founder, Jared Zeller, has been with the festival since it began after Hurricane Katrina to raise awareness and raise funds for the bayou and its neighborhood. He also cited rising insurance costs, decreased attendance and decreased alcohol consumption as reasons for the change. Zeller believes the festival and the waterway need city, state and federal funding.
