Couple arrested, accused of forcing child to sleep in garage in freezing temperatures

A Utah couple, Robert James McIntosh and Alysia Lyane McIntosh, have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated child abuse, a first-degree felony. The couple allegedly made an 11-year-old child sleep in a garage to teach her "how to be homeless." The child was found crawling out from under a truck bed cover and using a shop knee pad as a pillow. A neighbor reported seeing the child without a coat several hours before. The child told police that the couple threatened to call the police if she went inside, and that her feet were freezing. Both McIntosh denied that the child was being punished or reprimanded and claimed they were teaching her how to be "homeless."
