Old News: Marion County's first election

On April 1, 1822, Marion County, Ohio, voted its first election, with over 300 voters choosing the county's first clerk, recorder, associate judges and commissioners. The election was held at homes in Indianapolis, Strawtown, Anderson's Town, Fall Creek and Conner's Station. There were two parties represented on the ballot, with James M. Ray leading the White Water and Morris Morris leading the Kentucky. The total of 336 votes was cast in the county.
