Apple has released a new security patch addressing an important privacy vulnerability that allowed the FBI to access emails stored in Apple's push notification database. The patch was issued for iOS 26.4.2 and iPadOS 26.3.08. It does not specify what data will be redacted. This follows a case where the FBI accessed emails sent through encrypted app Signal, which was accessed by the authorities. The update will not require additional steps to protect Signal users.
