The Legends Never Die 5K in Madeira Beach, Florida, has raised funds for mental health issues affecting first responders and the military. The event, which took place in its fifth year, aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, first responders make up 1% of all suicides and 30% develop depression or PTSD. The money raised raised for the Franciscan Center, which provides free mental health treatment for firefighters.
