Valuable Valve has overhauled Counter-Strike 2’s reload mechanic, making it easier for players to drop the remaining ammunition from their weapons into an unlimited reserve supply. Instead, a new full magazine will be removed from the reserve and replace the remaining ammo. The changes have been made to allow for more efficient reloads, with some weapons having less emphasis on efficiency and precision or more on "spistol spam". The changes were found to result in an increase in weapon usage, with 7 weapons gaining ammo, 16 losing ammo, and 12 remaining ammo remaining unchanged under the new system.
