Bitrefill Claims Lazarus Group Hacked Them, Stealing Funds

Crypto e-commerce store Bitrefill has reported that it was targeted by North Korea's notorious hacking organization, Lazarus Group. The hackers used malware, on-chain tracing, and reused IP and email infrastructure to compromise an employee's laptop, draining funds from the company's hot wallets and potentially accessing 18,500 purchase records. Bitrefil, which provides customers with real-world crypto products and gift cards, did not disclose how much funds were stolen. The company has already implemented measures to improve its cybersecurity practices, including cybersecurity reviews with security researchers and increasing internal access controls.
