The 50th anniversary of Land Day, commemorating the confiscation of vast tracts of Palestinian land in 1976, sparked protests and deaths of six Palestinians and hundreds of others. Abdul Rahman Azzam, a 65-year-old farmer from the West Bank, recently had to remove his olive trees from his land following a decision by Israel to confiscate it for the construction of a road for an illegal Israeli settlement.
