Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated that the Strait of Hormuz will likely remain closed indefinitely until the U.S. and Iran reach a deal to permanently end hostilities. This comes after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it was resuming control over the strait, despite Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stating the waterway would remain open until the two-week ceasefire in fighting ends. The IRGC cited the ongoing US.
