Quarterback John Mateer is 30-to-1 for the Heisman and Oklahoma for national title, according to the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas. Mateer was introduced to the Sooners two seasons ago when he led them to victory over San Diego State. Despite previous allegations of gambling, Mateer bounced back and moved to Norman, Oklahoma. The Sooners have acquired some new weapons for Mateer this season, including a top-20 transfer class from Virginia and a returning receiver from Virginia. The CFP national championship game will be held in Vegas on Jan. 25, 2027. Long Island handicapper Tom Barton also bet on Rutgers' tough schedule and a return to the field for coach Greg Schiano.
