The London Borough of Enfield, London's northernmost borough, borders Hertfordshire and Essex, borders Waltham Forest, Haringey, and Barnet. Since 1965, Enfield has switched between the Conservatives and Labour four times, with the Tories holding the council for 26 years from 1968 to 1994 and Labour for a majority since 2010. Major regeneration programmes have been implemented in the last decade, particularly in Edmonton and Enfield Town.
