Boston Celtics president of basketball operations, Brad Stevens, has withdrawn from consideration for North Carolina's coaching search. This comes less than a day after it was reported that Stevens was on the university's principal list of candidates. Other potential candidates include Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd, Michigan's Dusty May, Iowa State's TJ Otzelberger, and Hall-of-Famer Billy Donovan. Stevens has not coached since 2021 and has options at the NBA level. With Stevens' departure, outgoing athletic director Bubba Cunningham and incoming AD Steve Newmark are leading the most speculated-on searches in college basketball.
