The 98th Academy Awards will feature 20 films previously showcased by Heartland Film, including nine nominated short films that were programmed at the Indy Shorts International Film Festival and the Heartlands Film Festival. Artistic director Greg Sorvig predicts that the organization could potentially see winners in all three short film categories for the first time. Among the nominees is Jane Austen’s Period Drama, co-directed by Steve Pinder, which earned a nomination for best live action short film. In the feature categories, Train Dreams is nominated for best picture, adapted screenplay, cinematography and original song. Sorvige also mentioned Wagner Moura as a potential dark horse for best actor.
