The annual art fair, EXPO Chicago 2026, is set to take place on April 9-12 at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall in Chicago. The event, now in its 13th year, will feature artists from the Obama Presidential Center, including those from the Obamas' Embodiment section and Focus section. The Focus section is where emerging art is seen as a great way to enter the fair for first-time visitors, with galleries established 12 years ago or earlier being part of the Focus section and curated by Katie A. Pfohl. Other sections include Profiles, featuring artists such as Lava Thomas, Big Chief Demond Melancon, LaKela Brown, and Janiva Ellis. The fair's global lineup includes galleries from Brazil, Brazil, and African nations. ExPO director Kate Sierzputowski highlights the global lineup of galleries from around the world, with 135 exhibitors participating. One panel discussion will feature museum leaders weighing in on AI, highlighting the importance of AI valuing artistic talent and skill.
