Interim Budget Officer Steps Down as Ottawa Searches for Replacement

The interim Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) for Canada, Jason Jacques, has resigned after six months and the Liberal government is searching for a replacement. The position was created in September last year under the guidance of Prime Minister Mark Carney. The previous PBO, Yves Giroux, had a seven-year term ended on Sept. 2.
