Iran hits Gulf neighbors and keeps stranglehold on oil shipping as concerns rise of energy crisis

Iran has been regularly targeting Israel, American bases, and its Gulf Arab neighbors with drones and missiles, and effectively stopping oil shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. This has led to fears of a global energy crisis and pressure on Washington as consumers are already feeling the pain at the pump. President Donald Trump has made demands to seven countries to send warships to protect their own territory, but no commitments have been made. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called claims of a negotiated end to the war "delusional" and "illegal". The country has fired hundreds of missiles and drones towards Gulf countries hosting U.S. military assets since the war began. The international standard Brent crude oil price remained over $100 a barrel on Monday, up nearly 45% since the US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28.
