Illegal immigrant accused in deadly Virginia stabbing previously picked up by ICE in 2018

Abul Jalloh, the illegal immigrant accused of stabbing to death a woman at a bus stop in Fairfax County, Virginia, was previously picked up by ICE in 2018 but never deported. The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office confirmed that it is unclear how he was able to leave ICE custody to return to the community. The director of communication for the sheriff's office said ICE filed a detainer and took him into custody from the Fairfax County Jail on Nov. 27, 2018. Despite a lengthy criminal history, Jallo is currently facing charges in the death of Stephanie Minter.
