Cardiologist Dr. Nieca Goldberg has shared her favorite foods for her daily breakfast, including steel cut oatmeal with a mixture of raspberries, blueberries, and almonds. A typical serving of oatmeal contains about 4-5 grams of fiber, making it closer to the 25 to 38 grams of the recommended daily dose of fiber. However, only 5% of the U.S. population currently consumes the recommended amount of fiber and missing out on important health benefits.
