Chadwick Willacy, convicted of murdering his Palm Bay neighbor Marlys Mae Sather in 1990, is set to be executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison on April 21. Sather was found burglarizing Willacy's home when she returned home unexpectedly from work and was set on fire. Willacy reportedly struck Sather with a blunt object, bound her hands and ankles, and attempted to strangle her with a telephone cord. Her body was discovered by her son-in-law after her employer received a call from her employer. The Florida Supreme Court upheld the convictions in 1994 but remanded Willacy back to the trial court for a new penalty phase.
