The climax of the episode saw Maul duel with Devon Izara, who he believes will be his apprentice. As Devon fled, the score of the scene included a whispering chorus of words from "Duel of the Fates" from The Phantom Menace, which is often Maul's anthem. However, the producers behind the show confirmed this was not the intended interpretation of the moment. Executive producer Brad Rau suggested that the use of a part of the lyrics from the song was intended to convey the supernatural importance of the crucial moment.
