ASEAN is moving forward with the ratification of the ASEAN Petroleum Security Agreement (PSA), a framework agreement on petroleum security, according to Philippine Trade Secretary Cristina Roque. The agreement aims to enable coordinated emergency fuel sharing and collective responses to supply disruptions. Roque also stated that the Philippines will prioritise the implementation of an ASEan-wide power grid to improve energy sharing and keep trade open and avoid trade restrictive measures. She added that the regional agreement will strengthen regional energy resilience and fuel sharing.
