Marmalade District finds new life in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City's Marmalade District is experiencing a resurgence due to new apartment construction and a growing food and nightlife scene. The area has recently added two trendy restaurants, Taverna and Mono Tape Club, and the Utah Film Center. The neighborhood, once industrial, is becoming more residential and commercial due to its proximity to downtown and decreasing affordability. However, as more people move in, the area is facing increasing affordability pressures driven by a surge in luxury apartments and townhomes. The Marmalatic District is one of the state's oldest neighborhoods, first settled by Latter-day Saint pioneers.
