The Philadelphia Eagles have selected Nigerian defensive tackle Uar Bernard in the 2026 NFL Draft, despite never playing football before. Bernard, a 21-year-old member of the NFL's International Player Pathway program, is expected to be a standout football player. The team hopes to use his raw athletic skills to develop into a standout player. Bernard initially weighed 295 pounds and 11 percent body fat with a 39-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot, 4-inch broad jump. He began training with Jordan Luallen in mid-January and has since made significant improvement.
