Xthings has released the Ulticam IQ V2 smart camera, the first Matter-certified AI security camera, which combines local edge processing with cloud AI to provide real context for events such as a person, a package, or a vehicle. The Ulticaam IQ also integrates with Google Gemini, which can stitch together related clips to tell users that a delivery driver arrived, left a package and stayed on the porch for 2 minutes. The most interesting feature is the integration with Gemini, allowing users to search for exact footage they need. However, Apple has not yet updated the Home app to support Matter cameras, which could potentially lead to expanded Matter support for Apple Home in iOS 27.
