Simon Pegg Film Collapse: Taxpayers Pick Up Bill For Unpaid Crew

The British government has paid some of the roughly £600,000 ($800,000) owed to the crew of Simon Pegg's film, Angels in the Asylum, which halted midway through its shooting in 2025. The Redundancy Payments Service, funded by National Insurance contributions, has been providing financial relief for nearly 70,000 victims of distressed businesses last year. However, some crew members are not receiving the full amount owed. The film's producers, Rob Sorrenti and Heather Greenwood, have previously apologized to angry crew members. The company filed for administration in April and around £3.8M ($5M) is owed to creditors.
