Italian researchers have claimed to have discovered a second Sphinx buried under the sands of Egypt, a significant discovery that would mark a significant find from the ancient world. Satellite radar technology detected a 180-foot mound of hardened sand on the Giza plateau. The discovery was made by Filippo Biondi in a podcast interview. The site of the scans is a mirrored location from the original Sphinx structure and indicates the existence of another Sphinx at the site where radar is detecting an underground structure. The two Sphinxes were likely used as propaganda by Pharaoh Thutmose IV in 1401 BC to support his claim to the throne of Egypt.
