Square Enix revealed a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 14, set to be released in August. This is the first time the MMORPG has made its way to a Nintendo platform. Players will need to purchase the game and pay for a monthly subscription, which can range from $13 to $15 depending on the number of characters a player wants on their account. The Switch 2 will require its own subscription and will require a 50% discount for this subscription. The first month of this version on Switch 2 is free, and cross-progression is still available on the Switch 2 for FF14 players. The next expansion for the game, Evercold, is set to release in 2027 and includes a new raid series featuring a crossover with the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.
