R.L. Stine, author of hundreds of children's horror books, will give a talk at the Indianapolis Public Library's annual Marian McFadden Memorial Lecture on March 19. The event, which has sold out but will be livestreamed, will also feature the new host of "Reading Rainbow" Mychal Threets. Strine revealed that he was initially afraid of everything and was introduced to Ray Bradbury as a child, introducing him to science fiction and fantasy books. He also revealed that his 7- to 11-year-old audience is the best audience for his stories. Despite his many changes in his writing, Stine remains committed to creating new stories for the sake of children.
