Flight from Portland has ‘close call’ with another plane while landing in Newark; investigation underway

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTS) is investigating a close encounter with an Alaska Airlines flight that overranced a FedEx Boeing 777 while attempting to land at the Newark Liberty International Airport. The incident occurred during the landing of the Boeing 737 and the subsequent flight. No injuries were reported.
