ProSieben's core profit drops due to weak German ad market

German media company ProSiebenSat.1 has reported a decrease in core profit due to a weak German ad market. Advertising revenue for the entertainment unit in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets fell 8% compared to the previous year. The company expects EBITDA to rise significantly due to continued cost reductions. Following the acquisition of MFE and the appointment of Marco Giordani as CEO, the broadcaster has focused on its core entertainment operations and moved to streamline its portfolio and reduce debt.
