President Trump's influence in the Republican primaries in Indiana and Ohio was a significant factor in these contests, where several GOP candidates secured landslide victories. In Indiana, five of the six contests were won by Trump-endorsed candidates, including five state senators. The victories included Trevor De Vries, Tracey Powell, Brian Schmutzler and Michelle Davis, and Travis Holdman, who have been in office since 2008 and is a member of Indiana Senate leadership. Meanwhile, in Ohio, Vivek Ramaswamy easily won the GOP primary for governor after securing endorsements from Trump and Vice President JD Vance. The results were still too close to call late Tuesday.
