Mets pitcher Clay Holmes has returned from a brief stint with Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, where he was able to pitch well-received, to rejoin the team. While he could have remained in Houston to continue pitching in the tournament, Team USA could not guarantee him the workload he needs to build up for the season. Holmes and Mets officials agreed that he should return to camp. He appeared in only one game of the tournament and threw just 38 pitches, with 28 for strikes.
