A Portland jury has acquitted leftist activist Angella Lynn Davis of second-degree disorderly conduct and offensive physical contact in relation to an October confrontation with independent journalist Nick Sortor. Prosecutors claimed Davis chased and helped surround Sortor while brandishing a stick near an Antifa-affiliated encampment near the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility. Sortor had traveled from Washington, D.C. to document unrest related to federal immigration enforcement policies. Davis' defense attorneys argued that Sortor instigated the confrontation and claimed he was the victim of mob violence. Another individual, Son Mi Yi, pleaded guilty in November after striking Sortor with an umbrella and agreeing to remain at least 300 feet from the ICE facility for a year.
