Kenya private sector activity expands at slower pace in February, survey shows

The Kenyan private sector expanded at a slower pace in February, largely due to slow performance in agriculture, manufacturing, construction, wholesale, and retail and services. The Stanbic Bank Kenya Purchasing Managers' Index dropped to 50.4 from 50.9 in January, indicating growth in business activity. However, some businesses were hampered by increased competition and a doubtful economy. The finance ministry predicts that the economy will grow by 5.0% in 2025 and 5.3% this year.
