The RTC cited concerns from Beth Purcell and Ralph Vitale, Republicans serving on the Board of Finance, who raised critical issues about the revenue side of the budget being $1.7 million short. The committee also expressed concern about a proposed 2.5 mill increase in property taxes. Town spokesperson and head of the HR department, Ed Sabatino, responded that the process is working as intended and that the current financial climate and unstable funding have led to inconsistent and uncertain financial environments.
