Andrew Wasil, a 39-year-old man from Braintree, has been hospitalized in India since February after contracting a severe infection while attending his brother's wedding. His family raised nearly $200,000 for a special medical flight via air ambulance. Wasil was diagnosed with a strep infection, which quickly turned into septic shock and led to an amputation of both his legs below the knees. Despite his initial diagnosis, Andrew's community has rallied to bring him home and he is expected to face a long recovery.
