The Senate has voted to extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) until April 30, giving Congress two weeks to come up with a solution. This decision comes as a significant setback for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La), who was pushing for a clean extension of the program. The House agreed to extend FISA by unanimous consent after a group of 20 House Republicans blocked attempts to pass five-year and 18-month extensions.
