The Trump administration has terminated several scientists on the National Science Foundation's (NSF) board from their roles. The White House Presidential Personnel Office thanked them for their service and effective immediately. Board member Marvi Matos Rodriguez said she was reviewing an 80-page report for her board work when she was informed she was terminated. The termination was not specified how many board members were terminated, nor if they will be replaced. The Planetary Society Chief Ambassador Bill Nye has called for Congress to intervene against efforts to cut funding to the NSF and NASA's Science Mission Directorate.
