DOJ antitrust head says Paramount–Warner Bros deal review is not political

The US Department of Justice (DIA) has denied that the Paramount–Warner Bros deal review, which analysts have suggested may have been influenced by political influence, is politically motivated. Acting Assistant Attorney General Omeed Assefi stated that the idea that enforcement has been politicized is "ludicrous". He declined to comment on ongoing investigations.
