Bronx-born footballer Mark McKenzie is on the verge of making the World Cup roster for the USMNT, after narrowly missing out in 2022. Despite this, McKenzie has made a significant improvement in his game, including playing in Europa League, UEFA Conference League, Champions League qualification, and winning the Nations League with the U.S. Last August, he moved from Belgian side Genk up to Toulouse and is starting in France's Ligue 1, one of the world's top leagues. He is also starting in a back three, which could help him in Mauricio Pochettino's 3-4-3 or 3-5-2-1 formation. McKenzie credits his maturity and experience playing against the best of the best in a league.
