Drew Allar, a former Penn State quarterback, was drafted No. 76 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, marking the end of his tenure as Penn State coach James Franklin. Despite being considered a significant prospect for the first-round NFL Draft, Allar failed to live up to expectations and his performance was criticized for his lack of trust in his skills. Allar was also criticized for throwing passes more than 100 yards downfield, and his accuracy was questioned. Despite this, Aller's tenure ended when he failed to clear 300 yards in six games. His performance led to the resignation of offensive coordinator Andy Koteli, who was credited with helping the team significantly improve efficiency.
