Yankees’ Aaron Boone ‘shocked’ to learn of Alex Cora’s firing, Boston massacre

The Boston Red Sox has fired manager Alex Cora following a 10-17 start to the season, with five members of Cora's big league staff including hitting coach Peter Fatse, third base coach Kyle Hudson, bench coach Ramón Vázquez, and major league hitting strategy coach Joe Cronin. Triple-A manager Chad Tracy will take over for Cora in an interim capacity. Despite the Red Sox losing four consecutive games and struggling with an underachieving pitching staff and a poor offense, they have retained Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow.
