Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has declared May 2026 as Motorcycle Safety Month, urging drivers and riders alike to slow down, stay alert, and share the road. Motorcyclists face significant risks on the road, with drivers urged to give them plenty of space and follow the same traffic laws as motorists. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety recommend several steps to reduce crashes and injuries. The Zero Fatalities Program aims to eliminate fatalities on Nevada roadways by focusing on key behaviors such as buckling up, being pedestrian and motorcycle safe, eliminating impaired driving, focusing on the the road and stopping at red.
