The San Diego Sheriff's Office has identified a 34-year-old man, Grant Parker, who was found hanging inside his cell at San Diego Central Jail after apparently attempting to kill himself. Parker had been arrested on suspicion of murder and was found dead in his cell on March 10. While Parker was scheduled to face trial for the alleged murder of 41-year old Mark Thomas, court records show he had previously been found incompetent to stand trial in an earlier case. This is the second person to die in sheriff's custody this year and the first apparent suicide in over two years.
