Victims’ families sound off on Bexar County DA after accused double murderer gets 50-year sentence

Lazerith Carrillo, accused of murdering ex-girlfriend Alyssa Perez, 25, and friend Edward Acosta Jimenez, 32 in 2023, has received a 50-year prison sentence for the murders. The plea deal was reached by the Bexar County District Attorney's Office and was dismissed after it was dismissed. The victims' families have expressed frustration over the handling of the case, accusing the DA's office of not being transparent and not being thorough in its investigation. The DA's spokesperson stated that the case was not the end of the day and that the decision to accept a plea deal had been made after thorough investigation.
