‘Bright Spot’: Artemis II Crew Names Moon Feature After Mission Commander’s Late Wife

The crew of NASA's Artemis II mission has named a new feature on the moon after its late wife, Reid Wiseman, who died of cancer in 2020. The names were chosen for two of the craters, one named for their spacecraft and another for their late wife. The crew shared a video on Instagram discussing the new features and craters they'd observed on the far side of the moon for the first time. The first of the two features was a crater named in honor of the crew, but the second was named after Wiseman's wife.
