Anthropic's Claude popularity with paying consumers is skyrocketing

Anthropic's popularity with its AI platform, Claude Code, is increasing due to its feud with the Department of Defense (DoD), which has resulted in increased interest in the company. An examination of billions of anonymized credit card transactions from about 28 million U.S. consumers by Indagari, a consumer transaction analysis company, revealed that Claude is gaining paid subscribers in record numbers. This data does not include every consumer and does not necessarily include Claude's enterprise business or its free-tier users. However, Anthropic confirmed that Claude paid subscriptions have more than doubled this year. The company's Super Bowl ads, which criticized OpenAI's decision to show ads to its users, and Claude Cowork, have also contributed to subscription growth. Despite this growth, Claude remains behind ChatGPT and other platforms like ChatPPT.
