The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, the site of the annual Mackinic Policy Conference, is home to the world's longest porch, at 660 feet. The hotel's "Somewhere in Time" suite was photographed for hotel designer Carleton Varney's book "Rooms to Remember." The "Sometime in Time," suite is named after the 1980 movie set at the hotel. Varney has designed for the hotel for over 40 years.
