A measure that would have removed criminal penalties for several acts related to prostitution in Colorado has been postponed indefinitely. The bill, sponsored by Democrat Sen. Nick Hinrichsen, would have repealed state criminal charges of prostitution, soliciting for prostitution, keeping a place of prostitution at a place, patronizing a prostitute and and a prostitute making a display. However, current penalties for pimping, living off money from another person's sex work would remain a class three felony. Opponents argue that the measure may have allowed human trafficking to flourish under a legal guise.
