Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the overwhelming favorite to repeat as NBA MVP in a poll conducted by ESPN's Tim Bontemps. He received 88 out of 100 first-place votes and 958 total points, far ahead of Victor Wembanyama in second place. Despite Wemanyama's defensive impact and individual net rating, Gilgeese-Alexander's offensive efficiency and overall performance have not yet been enough to push him over the top. The new poll also includes players no longer eligible for awards because they didn't meet the 65-game threshold.
